يتناول هذا الكتاب أهم الأحاديث حول الصلوات الخاصة وما تشتمل عليه من أحكام وقواعد يقوم عليها كل باب من الأبواب التي تطرق إليها الكتاب.
ويبدأ الكتاب بالبحث في الحديث من حيث الصحة أو الضعف وبيان آراء العلماء في هذا الحديث، ثم تخريج الأحاديث تخريجاً علمياً مع ذكر روايات الحديث واختلافها، ثم ينطلق إلى دراسة مناهج العلماء في سياق الأسانيد وإخراج الأحاديث في الأبواب المذكورة، وما لهم وراء ذلك من مقاصد إسنادية وفقهية. ثم يأتي بنماذج لذلك من مصادر رواية الحديث.
بعد ذلك يعرض دراسة متن الحديث من حيث فنون اللغة. ثم فقه الحديث وما يستنبط منه من الفوائد والأحكام، مع إيضاح وبيان كيفية استخراج هذه الفوائد من الحديث. وتعرض لمذاهب المحدثين، ولاسيما الإمام البخاري. ثم تناول مذاهب أئمة الإسلام في الحديث وبيان اجتهاداتهم في تفسير الحديث والعمل به، والاستنباط منه. ثم عني الكتاب ببيان مواقف المذاهب المشهورة من الحديث مذهباً مذهباً. ثم تناول رواية الأحاديث وبيان حالها من حيث الصحة أو الحسن أو الضعف، مع شرح موجز.
ويتناول الكتاب بالتفصيل هَدْيه صلى الله عليه وسلم في الصلوات الخاصة، وما يتصل بها؛ فيبدأ بصلاة الجمعة وفضلها، ويتحدث عن وقت الجمعة وشرط العدد لإقامتها، ثم خطبة الجمعة وعناصر خطبته صلى الله عليه وسلم. ثم يتحدث عن صلاة الوتر وهديه صلى الله عليه وسلم في وقت الوتر، ثم صلاة التراويح وصلاة العيد، وهديه صلى الله عليه وسلم في استقبال العيد، ثم صلاة المسافر. ثم يتحدث عن صلاة الاستسقاء وصلاة الكسوف. ثم هديه صلى الله عليه وسلم في المخاوف وأهوال الطبيعة. ويتناول صلاة الخوف وصلاة المريض. ثم يتحدث عن صلاة الجنازة، ثم هديه صلى الله عليه وسلم في حق الأموات. ويأتي على صلاة الاستخارة وصلاة التسبيح، ويختم بصلاة تقوية الحفظ.
