إن العنوان الذي يكلل صفحات هذا الكتاب هو من وضع المترجم والمتذوق "علاء اللامي" الذي قصد بهذا العنوان (قصائد حب باتجاه البحر) أن يوحى للقارئ بأن الشعراء الثلاثة كريكوري كورسو، أوديسيوس إليتيس جورج سيفرس والذي انتخب من شعرهم هذه القصائد كتبوا هذه النصوص الشعرية حُبِّيِّة لا غرامية لا غزلية وهم يرون-لا ينظرون-إلى البحر.
ذلك أن فعل الحب وكذلك ثمرته-الشعر الحُبيّ-لا يقع على البحر بل على المحبوب الآخر وقد صار البحر جزءاً من هذا المحبوب مع أنه في الأصل كان مسرح وخلفية تلك القصة-الحب-المنجزة.
