نقرأ في هذا الكتاب الحوار الأخير مع المفكر "نصر حامد أبي زيد" أجراه "فهد الغريزي" في أواخر كانون الأول/ ديسمبر 2008.
يدور هذا الكتاب حول محورين لا ينفصلان: شخص أبي زيد، وتجديد الفكر الديني، ولا سيما قراءة القرآن. فبسبب دعوته لهذا التجديد، ومنهجه، عانى الراحل كثيرا من الإسلاميين، لكنه لم يستسلم. اتهموه بزعزعة الثوابت، فوصفهم بأنهم أحرقوا الدين. قالوا عنه إنه أسقط هيبة القرآن، فرماهم بأنهم أفرغوا القرآن من محتواه العميق، وكرسوا شكلانية التدين، وساندوا الفساد ... هو كاتب آمن واحترم كل من خالفه، مؤكدا أن المشكلة لا تكمن في منهجه، ولكن في الزاوية التي يقرأه منها الآخرون، وما يُسقطونه عليه.
في هذا الحوار إيضاح لملابسات قضية الردّة التي تم رفعها على نص حامد أبي زيد، وما حدث فيها من تدليس وتجاوزات قانونية. كما يتضمن الحوار ردّه على اللغط الذي نشأ حول وصفه القرآن بأنه " منتج ثقافي " و "لغوي" و "ظاهرة تاريخية" وإيضاحاً لملابساته. وفي هذا الحوار إجابة عن تساؤلات شتى يكشف عنها فهد الغريزي وهي: أين يقف أبو زيد من كل هذا؟ وما هي قصة سنوات الغضب التي عاشها بعد صدور الحكم، ولماذا فشل في الدفاع عن نفسه؟ ما أسباب التأزم الذي يعيشه مجتمعنا، وما علاقة الدين بذلك؟ ما حقيقة منهج أبي زيد في قراءة القرآن، وما يقال حول خطورته؟ وما هي حقيقة الجمل التي استند إليها الإسلاميون في الحكم عليه مثل: القرآن منتج ثقافي، والبعد الأسطوري للقرآن، وغيرها؟ وللقارىء الحكم في بعد قراءة الحوار ...
