في روايتها هذه تقارب الروائية "أميرة محارب" قضية المرأة من خلال تمحورها حول شخصية البطلة "أكابر"التي يبتعد عنها زوجها "فيصل" ويختار العيش مع امرأة أخرى. "أكابر" هي ضحية الرجل في مجتمع تقليدي، وضحية الظروف والأفكار الاجتماعية التي تجيز للرجل الزواج بأكثر من واحدة؛ فالخيانة مشروعة هنا، من دون النظر إلى مشاعر المرأة ووصعها داخل الأسرة.
وفي مواجهة هذا العالم القائم، لا يبقى للمرأة إلا البوح للخروج من حالة القهر والتصالح مع الذات. "تباً لابن بطوطة، حفيد آل الكذب، دعيني أهذر الآن، فلا صير من الزندقة قليلاً، الجو ساخن هنا، والرجال فاكهة فاسدة، يبعثون فينا كـ رياح الشبط؛ حتى لتنوء مفاتح فاجعتنا بالعصبة أولي القوة...!...".
وهكذا ككل الروايات التي تناولت المرأة ترسم الروائية صورة للمرأة تبدو فيها، مستضعفة، حقوقها مهضومة، خاضعة للرجل، وهي تتساءل هل تغيرت هذه الصورة في عصرنا الحاضر..؟
