يتناول هذا الكتاب الحديث عن إحدى المواد التخصصية التي يتعرض لها طالب التصميم الجرافيكي، وهي بعنوان تكنولوجيا التصميم الجرافيكي، فبعد التعريف بتخصص التصميم الجرافيكي ومجالات عمله كان الحديث عن بعض المعارف التي لا بد لفني التصميم من الإحاطة بها بشكل جيد.
فقد احتوى هذا الكتاب على أربع وحدات الأولى جاءت بعنوان خامات الطباعة وتناول المؤلفون فيه الحديث عن أشهر الخامات المستخدمة وهي الورق وتطرق الحديث إلى صناعة الورق وأنواعه، ثم الأحبار المستخدمة في الطباعة وخصائصها وأنواعها.
أما الوحدة الثانية فجاءت بعنوان الحسابات المتعلقة بالطباعة لما لهذا الموضوع من أهمية مطلقة في مجال العمل وتطرق الحديث حول الملازم النظامية وأنواعها وطرق تشكيلها ومن ثم كيفية تحديد الملزمة المناسبة للعمل، ثم الورق قياساته وطرق تفصيله وحساب الكميات اللازمة لتنفيذ المطبوعات، وقد جاءت هذه الموضوعات معززة بأمثلة متنوعة تدرجت في أفكارها وصعوبتها حتى يتسنى فهم الموضوع بشكل أفضل.
الوحدة الثالثة كانت بعنوان أنظمة الطباعة المختلفة ومميزات كل منها ثم مراحل الإنتاج التي تمر بها المطبوعات داخل المطبعة وفق التطورات التكنولوجية الأخيرة.
أما الوحدة الرابعة والأخيرة فجاءت بعنوان المراحل النهائية التي تجرى على المطبوعات وشملت الحديث عن تعريف التجليد وخطواته وأنواعه المختلفة ثم تطرق الحديث عن بعض العمليات التي تجرى على بعض أنواع المطبوعات مثل التذهيب (الطباعة الحرارية أو البصم الساخن)، الكوفراج وقوالب القص والتشكيل وهي عمليات تعمل على منح المطبوعات شكلاً جميلاً وجذاباً.
