تضيف القصص ألواناً مستحدثة لمفاهيم إنسانية تقترب من عالم الطفل وترسم له عالماً خاصاً به، وقد تم سردها في الكتاب بلغة سهلة تتوجه إلى الأطفال دون سن السابعة الأمر الذي جعل من المؤلفة والأطفال والقصص نسيجاً واحداً مشتركاً وإذا ما قرأنا قصة "الفتى الأسود" سندرك ما أرادت المؤلفة الصغيرة تقديمه.
كان الفتى يعيش في كوكب اسمه الكوكب الأسود، وتدور القصة حول هذا الفتى الذي يلاحقه اللون الأسود دائماً في كوكبه، فذهب إلى كوكب الأرض الملون وتعرف على طفلة تدعى هناء ومنها تعرف إلى ألوان أخرى في الحياة وعندما أراد الذهاب إلى كوكبه الأسود أعطته هناء هدية وكان في الهدية كعك وصورة له هو وهناء أمام قوس المطر وعلبة ألوان وأوراق، فقرر أسود أن يلون غرفته ويرسم عليها رسوماً جميلة تحتض كل ألوان الحياة.
وفي هذا الكتاب نقرأ قصص أخرى مثل: "الفلاح والفئران السحرية"، "الأجهزة الإلكترونية"، "الكتاب صديقي"، "يوم غريب"، "هزم بأضعف مخلوق!"، "اللعب مع القطط"، و"الأرنب اللطيف".
