الرواية تتناول قصة فتاه (تحمل الرواية إسمها - نوره) فتلقي عليها الضوء من خلال اسرتها ودراساتها ثم من خلال العمل الذي تقدمت في الدمام - تبدأ أحداث الرواية من البنك حيث اختبار المتقدمات ومنهن نوره التي تجد عون لها من السكرتيره الحاليه للمدير التي تعجب بها لتحظي بالوظيفه تشجعها وتصادقها وتدربها لتصبح هي البديله لها بعد أن ذهبت الأخرى لتكمل دراساتها في الخارج.
وفي المكتب تلقي الرواية الضوء علي نوره ومديرها راكان وتركز عليهما من خلال التعامل والاعجاب المتبادل والود والمساعده منه لاسرتها والوقوف في وجه من يحاولوا إيذائها، وتبدأ قصة حب صامته تترجمها الأفعال والمشاعر إلى أن يحدث ذات يوم أن شاهد راكان وجه السكرتيره المنقبه صدفه وعندها اشتعل الحب ويقرر الزواج بها ويقابلها في منزل خاله الذي رباه بعد وفاة والديه – وبالفعل يخطبها ويتم الزواج ويستقيل من البنك ليؤسس مؤسسه خاصة وهي معه.
الحكاية تبدو عادية ومكرره ولكن الأحداث والتفاصيل والقصص الصغيره عن مساعدة المدير لأسرة سكرتيرته وبنات عمها واكتشاف قدراته وثقافته ومعلوماته وايضا علاقة نوره بالسكرتيره السابقة الودودة وقصه محاولة خطبة نوره لشخص مدمن وفشل ذلك – وغيرها - كل هذه التي طعمت بها أعطت لها عنصر التشويق فالمكان عبر الرواية محدود ببنك ومدينه ومنزلي
