عد أن أجريت دراسة مستفيضة دامت سنتين وبضعة أشهر، حول العلاقة بين أصنام العرب قبل الإسلام، والرُّموز الماسونيَّة، غرستُ أنيابي بشراسة في نهاية عهد الحكم العثماني في الحجاز، لأكشف ببُطء شديد عن الوجه التَّاريخي المطمور للحقيقة. نظرت بـعين إلى الـتَّاريخ، وبالأخرى إلى الرومانسيَّة، وبالثَّالثة التي في عقلي إلى ما وراء الطَّبيعة الإنسانيَّة، وذلك من خلال أبطال الرِّواية: امرأة عابدة، ورجل عربيد، ولاقيس ابنة إبليس. تركت لإحساسي حُريَّة التَّحكُّم في كتابة رواية رومانسيَّة كلاسيكيَّة عتيقة. نسجت حروفها بإبرة نسج حجازيَّة، مكدَّسة بخيوط عربدة الواقع المهترئ، وبأقمشة الخيال المُرقَّعة بسرد القضايا الاجتماعية،المتَّصلة بأغوار قضايا المرأة العربيَّة.
