نقرأ في هذا الكتاب شرح متن العقائد العضدية التي كتبها العلامة عضد الدين الإيجي في تلخيص عقائد أهل السنة والجماعة. وهو كتاب من كتب الدروس التي تناولها العلماء بالشرح والتعليق، حيث جمعوا فيه قواعد أركان العقيدة الإسلامية وأشاروا إلى أصولها وفروعها، ولأهمية هذا المتن فقد اعتمد في تحقيقه نسخة قيمة نادرة وجدت بالمكتبة الوطنية بتونس. وهي نسخة بخط مشرقي جيد متقنة كما أورد محقق الكتاب الأستاذ "نزار حمادي"؛ وفي آخرها إجازة يظهر أنها من المؤلف نفسه للطالب الذي قرأ عليه هذا الشرح وقابله على الأصل.
أما ما يتضمنه متن العقائد العضدية فيدور حول قول النبي (ص):"ستغرق أمتي ثلاثا وسبعين فرقة، كلها في النار، إلا واحدة، قيل: ومن هم؟ قال: الذين هم على ما أنا عليه وأصحابي" وهذه عقائد الفرقة الناجية: وهم الأشاعرة. أيضا يتضمن متن شرح العقائد العضدية ما أجمع عليه السلف المحدثين وأئمة المسلمين وأهل السنة والجماعة على أن العالم حادث ... وأن للعالم صانعا قديما لم يزل ولا يزال ... ومنزه عن جميع النقص ... ولا قبيح منه... ولا حاكم سواه... والقرآن كلام الله غير مخلوق... والإمام بعد رسول الله (ص) أبو بكر (رضي الله عنه) ... الخ.
