كريم طفل ورجل عاش طفولته في ظل والديه ملتصقا بهما لحبه لهما وكانا بالنسبة له الهواء الذي يتنفس به ، كريم ذلك الطفل الذي نشأ وترعرع في وسط أسرة عريقة مما وفر له كل سبل الراحة والرفاهية ، والى جانب ذلك أحضر له والداه أستاذا متقنا لعمله بدأ معه منذ نعومة أظفاره وبذل معه مجهودا في تعليمه كل مهارات القراءة والكتابة مما جعل مستواه العلمي والثقافي في تقدم مستمر فتفوق على زملائه في الفصل. وقد استطاع بعد توفيق الله سبحانه وتعالى ان يتغلب على الخجل الاجتماعي الذي لديه واصبح يخالط الاخرين وينفتح تدريجيا على المجتمع. وعندما وصل الى آخر مراحل دراسته في الثانوية العامة تحمل مسؤولية نفسه أولا ثم مسؤولية والدته وذلك بعد وفاة والده رحمه الله فقد حمل المسؤولية مبكرا وخاض كل الصعوبات وكان وراءه خاله العزيز الذي ساندهم هو وأمه وتابع وراءهم حتى حقق حلمه في تكملة مشواره الاكاديمي وقبوله في الجامعة بكل جد واجتهاد. ولا ننسى الفضل بعد الله تعالى في خالته وزوج خالته اللذين كانا يقيمان في مدينة أبها البهية التي نال قبولها لإتمام دراسته الجامعية بمساعدة زوج خالته الذي كان يعمل أستاذا في نفس الجامعة ، وفي هذه المرحلة الجديدة من حياة كريم انفتح على المجتمع واصبح يخالط زملاءه ويتحدث معهم بكل أريحية وبدون خجل او خوف.
