تتناول الرواية حالات الانتظار بأطوراها المتعددة والمترتبة على حدث الغياب الذي تركه طفل هو في الصل فردة لزوج من التؤم، وبينما التوأم الأخر والذي هو بطل الرواية والراوي في نفس الوقت والذي يكتب احداث الرواية كرسالة مطولة لأخيه التوأم الغائب وبينما يترقب عودته في ظل تسارع أيقاع نمط الحياة وتتالى الأحداث الدرامية من وخلال رحلات ينظم أليها عبر نادي هارلي دايفيدسون، حول بلدان الخليج العربي منها قطر والبحرين والكويت، وفي هذه الرحلات الكثير من المغامرات التي تتخللها العديد من المواقف الانسانية والمفاجأت وحالات الحب والخيانة، وخذلان الاصدقاء وتخليهم ووفاء آخرين واخلاصهم، وتحت سقف منزل متهاوي وعلى شفا الانيهار من فرط الجزع والغضب والحزن الذي حل على أفراده المكونة من الأم والأب والتؤم الوحيد من بعد حادثة فقدان الطفل التؤم وضياعه، وبعد عشرين عاماً من الانتظار تأتي الخاتمة مناقضة لكل التوقعاات والتخمينات.
