تناولت في هذا الكتاب سيرة الشهيد (محمد يونس السبعاوي) وتتبعت حياته منذ ولادته في الموصل ورافقته في صباه وصحبته في فتوته ولاحقته في شبابه، وحاولت في بحثي أن أمسس العوامل التي تضافرت على تكوين شخصيته في تلك المراحل، كما حاولت أن أكشف النقاب عن أبرز الملامح التي تتميز بها شخصية محمد يونس السبعاوي، إنساناً له جوانب قوة ولا يخلو من جوانب ضعف، قومياً يؤمن بعروبته ويبشِّر بالوحدة العربية ويسعى إلى تحقيق أهدافها بكل ما يملك من طاقة وحماسة، وطنياً يسعى إلى مقاومة كل نفوذ أجنبي يمس سيادة وطنه، عصامياً يشق طريقه وسط صعاب كثيرة بعناد وإصرار، شاباً ثائراً يتحدى بجرأة شبح الإعدام في أعماقه وتثور الاشواق في جوانحه وتدفعه إلى كتابة رسائل عاطفية رائعة.
