بقدر ما تتمركز الذات الشاعرة لـ "عبد الله بن رفود السفياني" حول أنويتها، بقدر ما تنفتح على الوطن وهمومه لتحكي سيرتها وسيرته، وهي على حد كبير حاتم الصكر "تقديم رواية الحياة منظومة شعراً" إلاَ أن الشاعر رافق الذات حتى في حال موتها (وأموت يا أمي.. وفي صدري كلام) إنه منلوج يشعرك بتشغيل تقانات العاطفة في وجهها المتألم نجح "السفياني" في بثه في النص في جو بلاغي معلن يصور مأساة الوكن والشجر والحجر. نقرأ له قصيدة بعنونا (غياب) يقول فيها: "من أين أبدأ والقصيدة في فمي ذبلت../ ومات الصمت والكلمات/ واللغة العتيقة..!/ أم كيف أقترف الجريمة/ بعد أن ولى ضجيج الحرف في لهب الحقيقة..! "مكر مفر.. مقبل مدبر معاً.."/ لا شيء في وطن القصيدة يستحق الدمع/ في طلل لعبلة أو عنيزة..!/ هذا أمير الشعر يجترَ الحروف وقد "بلينا"..!(...)/ بين "اللَوى" و"أنا" و"تابوت القتيلة"..!".
يضم الديوان سبعون قصيدة تراوحت بين الشعر الموزون المقفى والشعر العربي الحديث وقصيدة النثر نذكر من عناوينها: "وأموت يا أمي..!"، "طفولة نحو"، "مناجاة"، "سراب"، "فجر"، "ما تبقى من مذكرات عربي قديم"، "نفس من النفس"، "متاهات..!"...الخ.
