هذا الكتاب هو عبارة عن أعمال المائدة المستديرة التي نظمها المركز العالمي لدراسات وابحاث الكتاب الأخضر بمقره بمدينة طرابلس يوم الأحد 25-6-2006، بعنوان تسوية النزاعات في إفريقيا ومساهمة الرئيس معمر القذافي بالخصوص، وقد شارك في هذه المائدة مجموعة من الأساتذة المختصين وبعض الممارسين والمهتمين، وقد كان لي شرف المشاركة ببحث في هذه المائدة وكذلك بتحرير أعمالها.
ولا يخفى على القارئ الأهمية التي أصبحت تحظى بها دراسة النزاعات الدولية وتسويتها، لما تشكله هذه النزاعات من هم يؤرق السياسيين والباحثين، وهم تعاني من ويلاته معظم شعوب العالم وخاصة في القارة الإفريقية، فالنزاعات والحروب عادة ما يكون وقودها الآلاف والملايين من المتحاربين والأبرياء كما أنها تلتهم الموارد لصالح المجهود الحربي، ويكون من نتائجها إهمال وتدمير التنمية والبنية التحتية.< br>وفي هذا الكتاب يجد القارئ جوانب مختلفة تعالج موضوع النزاعات وتسويتها في الأوراق البحثية الرئيسية التي تقدم بها الباحثون، والتي تناولت الجانب الفلسفي للسلام في النظرية العالمية الثالثة، وفي جانب آخر تم تناول محاولة إيجاد نموذج معرفي جديد في تناول الصراعات الإثنية والسياسية في إفريقيا، أما في الجانب الثالث فقد تم تناول تسوية النزاعات في إفريقيا ومساهمة القائد معمر القذافي بالخصوص، كما إحتوى الكتاب على المساهمات التي أبدأها باقي المشاركين من خلال النقاش الذي دار في هذه المائدة والذي أثرى الجوانب المختلفة للموضوع.
