يسرد هذا الكتاب التاريخ الشامل لنشاطات أجهزة الإستخبارات الإسرائيلية بفروعها المتعددة وعلى رأسها جهاز الموساد الذي يتولى العمليات الخارجية، وجهاز آمان وهو الذراع المخابراتي للأجهزة العسكرية، والشين بيت وهو الجهاز المسؤول عن الأمن الداخلي وهو يماثل جهاز التحقيقات الفدرالية الأمريكي (FBI).
وهذا الكتاب "أمراء الموساد" يكشف وربما لأول مرة عن وجود أجهزة أخرى للتجسس إلى جانب الأجهزة السابقة الذكر وكذلك يكشف عن تطوير إسرائيل وأنظمة تسلح جديدة.
كذلك يتناول الكتاب مسألة التهديدات المستقبلية لإستخدام الأسلحة الكيميائية والبيولوجية والنووية في الشرق الأوسط.
ويسلط الكتاب أضواء جديدة على العمليات الشهيرة للموساد ومنها عملية عنتيبي، وعملية ضرب المفاعل النووي العراقي عام 1981، كذلك قضية الجاسوس الأمريكي بولارد بتشعباتها السياسية المعقدة، وكذلك القمع الوحشي للإنتفاضة الفلسطينية في الضفة الغربية وغزة.
