وإعلم أخي المسلم أن أكثر الناس نفعاً من سيرة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إنما هم الجيل الناشىء الجديد في الأمة الذين لم يتدنسوا بأدران الحياة ولم يصبهم وباؤها، وهم كالشجيرات الصغيرة الناعمة إن أنت أحسنت رعايتها وسقايتها وهذبتها من كل سوء يلحقها غدت شجيرات باسقات صلبات لا تهزها الريح ولا تقتلعها العواصف. وعلى هذا... قمت بكتابة هذا البحث المبسط لنقرأ الواقع على أساس ما مضى فتشتد عزائمنا وتقوى هممنا. وقد أخذت على نفسي أن أدقق الأخبار فآتي بأكثرها صحة ومسنداً كلاً منها إلى مصدره، ثم أذكر فائدة أو عبرة في نهاية كل بحث تكون بمثابة ثمرة يجنيها القارئ الكريم، معتمداً في ذلك على توفيق الله. على أنني لم أجمع أحداث السيرة كلها، إنما إنتقيت منها الأكثر نفعاً في تهذيب لا يذهب بالجوهر وتصرف لا يخل بالمهنى.
