يشكّل هذا الكتاب سيرة حياة السيدة "فاطمة الزهراء .. من قبل الميلاد إلى ما بعد الإستشهاد" العنوان الذي انتخبه الكاتب عبد الله عبد العزيز الهاشمي ليتحدث من خلاله عن مكانة السيدة فاطمة في الإسلام، على اعتبار أنها المرأة الإستثنائية والأنموذج الذي يتوجب على نساء المسلمين أن يقتدين به. يقول الكاتب: " ... اجتمعت فيها - فاطمة الزهراء - من المزايا والمواهب والفضائل والمكارم ما لم تجتمع في أي امرأة في العالم كله، من حيث النسب الشريف الأرفع، والروحانية والقدسية، ومن حيث بدء الخلقة ومنشأ إيجادها وكرامتها عند الله، وعبادتها وعلمها وديانتها، وزهدها وتقواها وطهارتها ونفسيتها وشخصيتها، وغير ذلك من مئات المزايا مما يطول الكلام بذكره (...)".
وعليه، يغطي الكتاب حياة السيدة فاطمة الزهراء عليها السلام منذ الولادة مروراً بزواجها من الإمام علي رضي الله عنه، وميلاد أبناءها، وكراماتها في حياة أبيها، بالإضافة إلى بعض القصص المتعلقة بذرية رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ومجموعة من فضائل أهل البيت عليهم السلام، وبعض البراهين والحقائق التاريخية التي تدل على مظلومية الزهراء وأهل البيت عليهم السلام. وأخيراً (قصائد وأناشيد) في حق الزهراء للشعراء: محمد رضا فتح الله، والسيد محمد جمال الهاشمي، وعبد العزيز العندليب، والشاعر معين الخياط، وعبد الصاحب الموسوي، والشيخ عبد الستار الكاظمي، والشيخ سلمان البحراني التاجر ... وآخرون.
