يأخذنا كتابُ «وأصبحت» في رحلة بين مطابخ آيوا المتواضعة، وقاعات الرقص في قصر باكنغهام. كما يبحر بنا في لحظات الحزن العميق، والشعور بالقدرة الجبّارة على التغلّب على أشدّ الضربات إيلامًا. ويشكّل إضاءةً على ما يدور في أعماق إحدى شخصيّات التاريخ الفريدة خلال نضالها لتعيش حياة غير مزيّفة، ولدى تسخير قوّتها الذاتيّة وصوتها لتحقيق ما تصبو إليه من مُثُل عليا. وهي، بروايتها قصّتها بصدق وجرأة، تضعنا أمام تحدٍّ: مَن نحن؟ ومَن نريد أن نصبح؟
