ألف الإمام الخميني مصباح الهداية وله من العمر 27، وكتاب شرح دعاء السحر وله من العمر 29، وكتاب كشف الأسرار - وهو الذين - بين يديك - وله من العمر ما يقارب الأربعين ولم يكن الإمام معروفاً بعد على المستوى الشعبي فكتب كشف الأسرار وهو يريد أن يضع أول قدم في طريق الجهاد ضد النظام مستغلاً كل الفرص حتى سنحت له الفرصة بعد عشرين عاماً من كتابة هذا الكتاب أي عام 1961 ميلادي 1384 هجري وهي فرصة استمر الإمام في إنتهازها وإثارة النظام حتى اعتقل ثم نفي إلى العراق ولم يهدأ بل استمر في جهاده حتى عاد منتصراً مؤسساً دولة الإسلام.
حولى الكتاب على مقالات ستة مقالات، مقالة في التوحيد رد فيها الشبهات المتوجهة على الشيعة، ومقالة في الإمامة بين فيها حقانيّة المذهب الشيعي، ومقالة في العلماء ومقالة في الحكومة يبين فيها نظرية ولاية الفقيه بشكل مجمل جداً وبمقدار ما اقتضاه الرد على ذلك الكتاب ومقالة في القانون ومن له القانون يبين فيها أن الإسلام دين الله تعالى الأبدي ومقالة في الحديث.
