هذا كتاب الفتن والملاحم في آخر الزمان مما أخبر به رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وذكر أشراط الساعة والأمور العظام التي تكون قبل يوم القيامة مما يجب الإيمان به لأخبار الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم عنها. وقد ذكر المؤلف فيما تقدم إخباره صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الغيوب الماضية وبسطه في بدء الخلق وقصص الأنبياء وأيام الناس إلى زمانه متبعاً ذلك بذكر سيرته صلى الله عليه وسلم وأيامه ذاكراً شمائله ودلائل نبوته مردفاً بما أخبر به عن الغيوب التي وقعت بعده صلى الله عليه وسلم، والذي طابق أخباره فشوهد ذلك عياناً قبل زمن المؤلف، فأورد جملة في آخر كتاب دلائل النبوة من سيرته صلى الله عليه وسلم، ذاكراً عند كل زمان ما ورد فيه من الحديث الخاص به عند ذكره حوادث ووفيات الأعيان، كما قام المؤلف ببسط في كل سنة ما حدث للخلفاء والوزراء والأمراء والفقهاء والصلحاء والشعراء والتجار والأدباء والمتكلمين ذوي الآراء وغيرهم من النبلاء.
