سورة الحجرات من السور القرآنية المعجزة بلفظها ومعناها. وهي من السور المدنية، التي تنزل بها الوحي الأمين على النبي الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو في المدينة المنورة مستقر الأنصار، ومنطلق الدعوة الإسلامية والخلافة الراشدة. وسورة الحجرات، مليئة بالآدات العالية، والأخلاق السامية والمثل النيرة التي تقود الإنسانية إلى العلياء والكمال، والحصافة والسماحة والجمال. وهذه السورة الجليلة ذات الثمانية عشر آية تعتبر من عظائم السور القرآنية.
حيث تضع المسلم أروع المثل افنسانية العليا في الأخلاق والآداب، والأعمال والمعاملات وهي جديرة بالدراسة، حرية بالفهم وإمعان النظرة وهذا ما دعا "محمد محمود الصواف" إلى إعداد كتابة الذي بين أيدينا والذي هو واحد من سلسلة حلقات تصدر تحت عنوان "المكتبة القرآنية" وفيه عنى المؤلف بتفسير سورة الحجرات وشرح مضمونها آية أية هذا بعد أن تعرض في مقدمة الكتاب لأهم أغراض هذه السورة، ولسبب نزولها.
