هذا الكتاب محاولة متواضعة يقدم المؤلف من خلالها نماذج لنساء صالحات عابدات، قاتنات مجاهدات، زَيَّنَّ التاريخ بأعمالهن، فكانوا الشمس المشرقة حين تتلبد السماء بالغمام، ومنارات الهدى حين تضيء الطريق للحائرين.
لقد حققت المرأة المسلمة في صدر الإسلام، وخلال أطوار المجتمع الإسلامي الواعية، إنسانيتها الكاملة، وكانت مضرب المثل ومنار القدوة في الوفاء والإخلاص والطاعة لزوجها، وإعداد الأبطال من أبنائها، في التضحية والفداء والبذل والعطاء، في الثبات وتحمل الصعاب والعذاب، في الهُدَى والتُقَى والعفاف والغنى، في الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر، في الإعتماد على نفسها، في التعلم والتفقه والنهي عن المنكر، في الإعتماد على نفسها، في التعلم والتفقه وتعليم الآخرين، في الجرأة والشجاعة والفصاحة والبلاغة وقرض الشعر.
وكان دأبها دائماً هو الطُّهر والعفة، والأنفة والعزة، والصبر والمجاهدة، فكانت إستمراراً متصلاً لآداب دينها الإسلامي العظيم... تلك هي بعض النماذج للنساء، قدمها المؤلف من خلال فصول هذا الكتاب، ابتدأه بخير نساء العالمين، ثم بأمهات المرسلين عليهم السلام، فأزواج النبي أمهات المؤمنين وبناته صلى الله عليه وسلم ثم عرض نماذج لبعض الصحابيات وأخرى للتابعيات فنساء شهيرات ومجاهدات، إلى نساء عابدات زاهدات إلى نساء فصيحات بليغات.
