الغاية من هذا الكتاب هي أن تكون بين يدي الباحث والدارس مادّة نقديّة تعكس وجهات النظر المختلفة لعدد من الكتّاب والنقّاد العرب والعراقيّين الّذين تناولوا خمساً من رواياتي: بنت الخان، ما بعد الحبّ، في الطريق إليهم، زجاج الوقت، مطر الله، بحيث يمكن الإستفادة منها في بحوثهم المستقبليّة، أو الإطّلاع على منجزي الروائيّ بعيون الآخرين.
ومع الجدير بالذكر أنّني لم أنتقِ هذه الدراسات بحسب مزاج شخصيّ يختار الــ"مع" ويترك ألــ"ضدّ"، بل سيلمس القارئ أنّني كنت أمينة في جمع هذه المادّة كما جاءت بأقلام كتّابها... كما أودّ أن أشير إلى أنّني اضطررت لعدم إدراج بعض الدراسات، منها مثلاً دراسة مهمّة للدكتور "إبراهيم خليل" عن رواية (ما بعد الحبّ)، لأنّها حين نشرت سقطت عنها المقدّمة، ولأنّ الدراسة تعتمد كلّها على تلك المقدّمة فقد آثرت إستبعادها، ومنها دراسات أخرى فقدتُ بعض صفحاتها بسبب كثرة تنقّلي من بيت إلى بيت، وبالتأكيد هناك بعضٌ لم يصل إليّ.
لكنّ الأهميّة ليست في كثرة ما كتب، بل في عطائه فكرةً وافيةً عن تجربتي الروائيّة من خلال المجهر الإبداعيّ لنخبة من الكتّاب العرب والعراقيّين، علماً بأنني استثنيت روايتي السادسة (نساء العتبات) لحداثة صدورها ولظنّي بأنها لم تصل إلى القارئ بالقدر المطلوب.
