إن فهم حقوق النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أمر في غاية الأهمية، لأنه مرتبط بتحقيق العبد لشهادة أن محمداً رسول الله، وذلك أن تحقيقها لا يحصل بمجرد النطق باللسان، بل القيام بما تضمنه تلك الشهادة وإرتكزت عليه من شروط.
وفي هذا الكتاب يجمع ماجد بن سليمان الراسي أربعة مواضيع تتعلق بالإيمان بالنبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، وهي: مقدمات في الإيمان بالنبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم)، مقتضيات الإيمان بالنبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم) السبعة عشر على الأمة، نواقض الإيمان بالنبي (صلى الله عليه وسلم).
تأتي أهمية هذا الكتاب من كونه يقدم للقارئ المسلم معنى الشهادة أن محمداً رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم") والفهم الصحيح لها من دون إفراط ولا تفريط. وفي هذا يقول مؤلف الكتاب"... والحق أن " شهادة أن محمداً رسول الله" كقسيمتها "شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله" تماماً. لها معنى وشروط ونواقض ومقتضيات، وهي داخلة في الإيمان بالرسل الذي هو الركن الرابع من أركان الإيمان، فعلى هذا فلا يتم للعبد تحقيق ركن الإسلام الأول وركن الإيمان الرابع إلا بتحقيقها، فحرى به أن يتعلمها. ليكون على بصرة من أمره، ليكون ممن إعتقد بجنانه، وقالها بلسانه، وحققها بأركانه، فيكون ممن قال تعالى فيهم: "والذين هم بشهداتهم قائمون".
