تتناول هذه الدراسة (صورة المكان في شعر عز الدين المناصرة) وهو شاعر تجول في كثير من الأماكن في هذا العالم، مما أدى إلى إثراء تجربة الشعرية، ومن جهة أخرى إن هذا الشاعر يتمتع بشعرية متميزة إزاء المكان، وتشكيلاته، وصوره؛ مما انعكس في فنه الأدبي والشعري بشكل واضح.
وعلى الرغم من وجود دراسات تناولت شعر الشاعر، إلا أنه لم تتوفر دراسة متخصصة بدراسة المكان وصورته، فقد جاء جل هذه الدراسات في موضوعين: تراثي، وفني؛ إذ كان ذكر المكان فيها ضعيفاً، لا يفي بالفائدة إزاء التعرف على صورة المكان في شعر المناصرة وأثره، حيث عاش الشاعر المناصرة، بعد خروجه من (فلسطين) عام 1964 في البلدان التالية: (مصر، لبنان، بلغاريا، يونس، الجزائر، الأردن) وكان قد عاش (18) عاماً في فلسطين مسقط رأسه.
من هنا، اختصت هذه الدراسة بدراسة المكان في شعر عز الدين المناصرة حيث ركز المؤلف الشاعر الشعرية ليبحث فيها فيما يختص بالمكان.
وقد وقع البحث في ثلاثة فصول ومقدمة وخاتمة، وقد تناول الفصل الأول، فلسطين مكاناً، والمكان العربي والأجنبي، فتعرض لصورة فلسطين في شعر الشاعر، وفي الفصل الثاني تحدث المؤلف عن مكانين هامين في حياة المناصرة: (الخليل، والبحر الميت)، وفي الفصل الثالث تناول الكتاب الدراسة الفنية، فتحدث عن صورة المنفى ودلالاته، وجدلية الإتصال والإنفصال بناء على ثنائية الوطن والمنفى، ودرس الصور الشعرية: البسيطة، والمعقدة، والكلية، والمفارقة، إضافة للكناية.
