"ألسنة اللهب" رواية تتحدث عن تأثير الإيديولوجيا الدينية في الإنسان والتي تحكم سلوكه وتصرفاته وتشكل أساساً في الحكم على كثير من الأمور الخاصة بالآخرين وخاصة من اصحاب الأديان والمذاهب الأخرى.
وفي هذا العمل يتناول صلاح الحداد بالنقد حركة الإخوان المسلمين الليبيين من خلال حبكة روائية متقنة تروي حكاية أحد أعضاء الجماعة في أوروبا من الذين تم التغرير بهم وإستخدامهم لتنفيذ بعض العمليات، كما تكشف الرواية الكثير من طقوس الجماعة وأساليبها في العمل السري.
ما يميز الرواية أنها تستند إلى نوع من التحليل المعرفي في مقاربة النص الروائي، سواء على مستوى الحكاية أو الخطاب الذي يريد الكاتب توجيهه إلى مسار حركة الإسلام السياسي، يتضح ذلك من خلال تمتع العمل بزخم تاريخي، ومعلومات عن تاريخ الجماعة عموماً ومؤسسها.
