"أبجدية لأشتهاء الموت" نصوص نثرية وقصائد متدفقة وخاطفة وغريبة يأخذنا إليها شعرياً وعبر تيمة الموت الشاعر السوداني "محمد عثمان عوض" عبر فضاء روحاني ووجداني أكثر عمقاً في قراءة مفاهيم العصر الحيث، حيث طغت على النصوص قراءة الشاعر لمفهوم "الحداثة"، "الحرية"، وغيرها من مفاهيم. يقول في قصيدة بعنوان [وسطى.. وليس إبهاماً للحداثة] "شجيرة/ علوها لا يتعدى المتر تقريباً/ تتوسط خطي السكة الحديد للقطار والمترو/ مسافة أربع أقدام فصلت بينهما/ وهي هناك تقف بتحد/ كما لو أنها ترفع بالوسطى/ في وجه الحداثة/ وتسب آلهة المعدن/ والتنين الممعدن يلفظ لهبه/ بلا رحمة/ يدنس جسد أمه/ ويفرغ أحشائها لإشباع/ غول أنانيته المقدس (...)".
