إن الفلسفة في مدلولها العام تعني الإسترشاد بنظرة صحيحة إلى العالم تمثل مجمل المفاهيم عن الحياة في أبعادها الشاملة أو ظواهرها وأحداثها كلا على حدة كما تبدو من خلال نظرة واحدة أحياناً؛ وهذا فإن دراسة الفلسفة تسهم إسهاماً حقيقياً في تنمية فكرة البحث وتوسيع آفاق دائرة العقل، وقديماً قال حكماء اليونان أن المعرفة شجرة صلبها الفلسفة وفروعها العلوم المختلفة.
وفي العصر الحديث أصبح المنهج العلمي دليل العالم لإكتشاف الحقائق العلمية فهو أي المنهج أبرز رسائل التعبير الإيجابي لإدراكه المنظم القابل لإستنتاج القوانين العامة من الحقائق العلمية المكتشفة، وقد وضع هذا السلوك المعرفي حجر الأساس في فلسفة العلم الحديث ولم يمض الوقت طويل حتى أصبح هذا التطور ظاهرة عامة في حقول المعرفة كافة.
يتناول هذا الموضوع إعداد موسوعة ميسرة، حيث تم ترتيب محتويات هذه الموسوعة على الألفباء العربية، ولم تدخل "ال" التعريف في تبويب المحتويات في هذا الموضوع؛ في حين جاء ذكر الإبن في تسمية البعض من الفلاسفة بوصف الكلمة أصلية مثل ابن حزم وابن خلدون وابن سينا وغيرهم.
وأخيراً فإن الهدف من هذا الموضوع، هو إعداد موسوعة ميسرة ويشكل مختصر دون الدخول في التفاصيل، بشكل مبسط والذي يوفر للقارئ فهماً ميسراً لآراء الفلاسفة وأهم نتاجاتهم الفلسفية ومدارسهم الفكرية، بالإضافة إلى توضيح أهم الأسس الفلسفية.
