يسعى "منير وهيبه الخازن" في كتابه هذا إلى تسليط الضوء على الراهبة هندية الذي اعتبرها أغرب إمرأة في التاريخ فما هي قصة هذه المرأة العجيبة التي تلبس وتأكل وتسكن وتتحمم بماء الزهر، وتتعطر كالسلطانة، وتقتحم الجبال والأودية كالفاتحة على متن جواد مطهم، تواكبها جنود وراهبات على الخيول، وقساومة يسيرون من يمينها ويسارها، والمطران جرمانوس دياب يركب في المؤخرة، والأجراس تقرع لمقدمها، ثم إذا ألقيتها صامتة هادئة في قبو مظلم رطب قذر طوال الأعوام السوداء التي تسبق وفاتها في دير منقاها سيدة الحقلة بكسروان.
وإذا تبينت كل هذا، دهشت من إنطباق الإسم على المسمى، في عبقرية عقلية وعاطفية وخيالية لم يذكر التاريخ أغرب منها، إذ حملت تسمية هندية عجيمي الراهبة، ففيها من البوذية اسم الهند، ومن الزردشتية اسم المعجم، ومن النصرانية الرهنة، آمنت وآمن الناس معها، بإشتراكها الحسي بجوهر الألوهية على مبدأ اليوغية الهندوسية، ونطقت بحكمة كونغوشيوس، ومجدت النار كالفرس، والعناصر الأربعة كاليونانيين، وذابت بالمحبة متمثلة بالقديسين المسيحيين.
لهذا رأى المؤلف ضرورة التعريف بهذه الراهبة، متحدثاً عن نشأتها في حلب وحياتها في لبنان، كما تحدث عن فضائل الأم هندية وقداستها وعجائبها، ذاكراً أعدائها الثلاث وهم الإفرنج، وصنائعهم من خوري مدفوع، وراهبات تابعات الذين شنوا حملات على الراهبة هندية ورهبنتها مشككين بها وبرهبنيتها.
كتاب شيق يتحدث عن حقبة في تاريخ لبنان الحديث أراد به الكاتب إيراد قصة هندية وإظهار الروح الوطنية التي بدأت في لبنان، متبلورة في مناصرة هذه المرأة العجيبة التي أيّدها بطاركة ومطارنة ومشائخ.
