Book Description
يتناول المؤلف محمد بن إسماعيل الكبسي في هذا الكتاب تاريخ الإمام "محمد بن عبد الله الوزير" لسنة وشهرين فقط. وذلك في شهر رمضان عام 1269 إلى ذي الحجة عام 1270 ومر مروراً عابراً بالمراحل التي سبقت الدعوة. ولم يكمل بقية السيرة بسبب مباينته للإمام وانقلابه عليه.
وتكمن أهمية "جواهر الدر المكنون وعجائب السرّ المخزون" أن المؤلف قد كتب ما كتب في ساعات صفاء بين الرجلين، ولكنه أرسل به إلى الإمام في وقت غاضب واستياء، فقرأه الإمام وعلّق عليه تعليقات حادة وساخرة.
إلى جانب ذلك فإن الأهمية أيضاً تكمن في أن جزء من هذا الكتاب قد كتب مرة من قبل المؤلف، وقرئ مرة ثانية من قبل صاحب السيرة واختلفا، ومعنى ذلك أن ما اتفقا عليه ثابت صحيح، وما اختلفا فيه بحاجة إلى دعم من مصادر أخرى.
ويهدف زيد بن علي الوزير من وراء إحياء هذا الكتاب إلى المساهمة في توضيح تاريخ هذه الفترة المظلمة المضطربة في تاريخ اليمن، فما من فترة سادها الغموض والاضطراب والفوضى في الوقائع والتفسيرات والتناول كما ساد هذه الفترة واكتنفها وألمّ بها.
