يتحدّث عن تاريخ التشيع في الإقليم الذي كان يُسمّى سابقاً ب"إقليم البحرين"، والممتد من جنوب البصرة شمالاً إلى حدود عُمان جنوباً، ومن سواحل الخليج الفرسي شرقاً إلى حدود اليمامة ونجد غرباً شاملاً بذلك واحات القطيف والأحساء وجزر أوال وما يتبعها جميعاً، وقد أصّل الكاتب بالمصادر التاريخيّة المعتبرة لبدء انتشار التشيع بين سكان هذا الإقليم من القبائل العربيّة وغيرها، ولاسيما قبائل ربيعة، ثم على الخصوص قبيلة عبد القيس منذ القرن الأوّل الهجري وحتى القرن التاسع وهي الفترة التي كان كل سكان الإقليم فيها شيعة لآل البيت؛ الأمر الذي ساهم في ظهور مصطلحي (بحراني) الذي يُراد به (الشيعي)، ومصطلح (بحارنة) الذي يُراد به (الشيعة).
