ليس من المبالغة أن يقال: إن منهج القانون النقدي الذي وضعه المحدثون يصلح لأن يضبط منفذ السمع لدى الإنسان، فما وضعه المحدثون لا تتوقف مساحته عند الروايات النبوية، بل يتجاوز ذلك ليصلح للحكم على الخبر أياً كان مصدره، مع ضرورة مراعاة مجال كل نوع من أنواع الخبر.
وهذا البحث هو من البحوث الجادة، الذي أراد مؤلفه أن يسهم من خلاله في مجال الأشباه والنظائر في علم الحديث، فاختار (التفرد) عند المحدثين.
وتأتي أهمية هذا البحث من خلال أمور:
ـ جوهرية قضية التفرد في علوم الحديث، فالتفرد يدخل في التصحيح والتضعيف ويأخذ دورا في قبول الرواية وردها.
ـ اتصال مسألة التفرد بعدد من أنواع علوم الحديث أما الجديد الذي قدمه الباحث:
1ـ دراسة مسألة التفرد بكل أبعادها وتفصيلاتها.
2ـ قدم دراسة تاريخية لتطور مصطلحات علوم الحديث التي لها علاقة بالتفرد.
3ـ جمع عدد من مصطلحات الجرح والتعديل، التي تدل على التفرد.
4ـ استخلص الضوابط التي يستند عليها النقاد في إعلال التفرد.
5ـ أمثلة تطبيقية.
هذا وقد قسم المؤلف كتابه إلى فصول: شرح بعض المفاهيم الأساسية في فصل تمهيدي، ثم تحدث في بقية الفصول عن: التفرد وأقسامه، وصلته بعلل الحديث، وأثره في الجرح والتعديل، ثم عن الفرد وأقسامه، ثم عن الغريب وحكمه، وأثر الغرابة على الراوي، ثم عرف الشاذ وتطور مفهومه، وعبارات الحفاظ في الشاذ، ثم عرف المنكر، وموقعه من الضعيف وعلاقته بالموضوع، ثم عرف زيادة الثقة أقسامها، وحكمها، ثم تحدث عن ضوابط قبول التفرد أو رده. وأخيراً الخاتمة ونتائج البحث والتوصيات
