ولان الاقتصاد بصورته الحالية صار يتباعد عن العلوم الاجتماعية شيئا فشيئا حتى فارقها بصورة كبيرة جاءت هذه الدراسة الصادرة عن مركز نماء لتفرد حيزا معرفيا لدراسة فلسفة الاقتصاد المعاصر وبناه واسسه، رغبة في بيان أهمية هذا العلم ولإتاحة الفرصة لفهم أوضح ووعي أعمق لمختلف التوجهات الاقتصادية المعاصرة وهو الذي سعى المؤلف لبلورته من خلال تتبع مسار تطور الأفكار الاقتصادية عن طريق ربطها بجذورها الفلسفية.
كان من دوافع تقديم هذه الاطروحة أيضا الحاجة الملحة الى نظام اقتصادي متكامل في عالمنا العربي والإسلامي وهو ما دفع المؤلف لتعميق اطروحته والنبش في الابعاد الفلسفية للاقتصاد المعاصر وذلك لتحقيق أكبر قدر من تفكيك البنية الفلسفية والمعرفية الداعمة لتحقيق الفهم والوعي الحقيقيان ومن ثم تصور الحلول الدقيقة والعلمية بصورة حقيقية.
واهتم الباحث هنا ببيان أثر الادراك الواعي لفلسفة علم الاقتصاد بصورته الوضعية على جودة تقييم منتج الاقتصاد الإسلامي المعاصر خاصة في جانبه التنظيري.
