للوقوف في رحاب "علي بن أبي طالب" رضي الله عنه نكهة خاصّة، وذلك لشخصيته الفريدة والمميّزة، حيث أنّه كان علمّاً في الشّجاعة والبطولة، وعلماً في الكلام والفصاحة والبلاغة، وكان قائداً صنديداً للأمّة، وكان قمّة في الحكمة والعقل والفكر... فجمع كلّ الخصائل الحميدة على كافة المستويات الفكريّة والجسديّة والأخلاقية.
أراد المؤلف إحياء ذكرى عيد الغدير وذلك بإحتفال أقيم بدعوة من "الملتقى الثّقافي الجعفري في المتن الشّمالي، وذلك في حسينيّة مسجد الإمام "علي بن أبي طالب" رضي الله عنه، حيث حاضر فيه كلّ من: سماحة الشّيخ أحمد قبلان (المفتي الجعفري الممتاز)، وسيادة المطران جورج صليبا (مطران جبل لبنان للسّريان الأرثوذكس)، وسماحة الشّيخ "أحمد درويش" الكردي (قاضي بيروت الشّرعي السّني)، كما كانت للمؤلف كلمة الختام، كما وقد قدّم للحفل هاني أبو زيد.
ولأهمية ما جاء في هذا الإحتفال، عمد المؤلف لنشر وقائعه، سعياً لتعميم الفائدة، من ناحية، ومن ناحية أخرى محاولة لتعزيز اللّقاءات الإسلاميّة - المسيحيّة، خصوصاً في هذا الجو القائم الطّائفي البغيض، الّذي يعلو فيه الصّوت الفئوي والمذهبي... ممّا يلزم بالسّعي إشاعة جو الإعتدال، المفعم بكلّ مفاهيم الحوار وتقبّل الآخر...
