تفخر دار"المركز التقني المعاصر" بأن تضع أطلس سوبوتا بين يدي القارئ العربي باحثاً وطبيباً وطالباً، ليكون له المرجع العمدة والمنهل الثر في علم التشريح وما يتصل به. وتعود الشهرة الواسعة التي حظي بها هذا الأطلس والإقبال الشديد على اقتنائه إلى كونه مصدراً موثوقاً وواضحاً، مما جعل كل دارس للطب أو راغب في الاستزادة من المعارف التشريحية لا يرى غنى عن العودة إليه والاعتماد عليه.
لقد تم الاتصال بدرا نشر Urban & Schwarzenberg الألمانية، صاحبة حق نشر هذا الأطلس، والاتفاق على شراء لوحاته الملونة الصماء المطبوعة في ألمانيا، واستقدامها إلى دمشق لكي توضع عليها التسميات العربية والإتكليزية الحديثة جنباً إلى جنب توخياً لزيادة الفائدة والمعرفة. ولم يكن تحقيق هذا الأمر سهلاً أبداً إذا تطلب منا اللجوء إلى تقنيات رفيعة المستوى للحفاظ على الدقة العلمية والإخراج البين.
إن من دواعي الاعتزاز أن تكون هذه الطبعة العربية الجديدة قد اعتمدت على أحدث طبعة إنكليزية هي الطبعة الحادية عشرة التي صدرت عام 1990، وشملت كل ما أدخل على الطبعات السابقة من تنقيح وتعديل في الأشكال والشروح، كما أنها تضمنت 324 شكلاً جديداً منها ما هو متسم بتقنية عالية استخدمت فيها أجهزة المرنان وأجهزة التصوير الطبقي المحوري المحوسب والتصوير بالأشعة فوق الصوتية. ويضاف إلى ذلك كله احتواؤها المصطلحات التشريحية الحديثة التي تم الاتفاق عليها في مؤتمرات جمعية المشرحين العالميين، تلك المصطلحات التي أضحت تعتمدها كليات الطب في أرجاء العالم. وبهذا تصدر هذه الطبعة متفردة بفوائد علمية جمة.
