يتناول هذا الكتاب، الحديث المشهور –المنوه بفضل أم المؤمنين الصديقة "عائشة" (رضي الله عنها) –المعروف بين المحدثين بـ "حديث أم زرع" وقد حوى بين ثناياه طائفة كبيرة من الآداب والأخلاق والقيم العربية عن حسن المعاشرة بين الزوجين وحسن الوفاء بينهما. وقد أفرد شرح هذا الحديث طائفة من العلماء؛ لأهميته، وأولويته وحسن ألفاظه، وجميل صياغته... ومن بين هؤلاء الشرح الذي يتناوله هذا الكتاب للإمام "ابن ناصر الدين الدمشقي –الشافعي" والذي أتى على شرح حديث أم زرع الذي روثه السيدة عائشة إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عندما اجتمعن في دارها إحدى عشرة إمرأة، فجلسن وتعاهدن ألا يكتمن من أخبار أزواجهن شيئاً.
يضم الكتاب شرحأً مفصلاً لما روته النسوة الإحدى عشرة عن أزواجهن من حيث التأويل والتفسير اللغوي، والمعنى الإصطلاحي لكل مفردة، ولفظ، والحكمة من وراء كل حديث، كذلك يضم الكتاب شرح لحديث عائشة (رضي الله عنها): قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: "يا عائشة، كنت لك كأبي زرع لأم زرع" والذي يؤشر إلى حث الإسلام على تبني القيم الأخلاقية بين الزوجين.
