يعدّ هذا الكتاب من أهم الكتب التي صدرت حول القبائل العربية في إيران، وتكمن أهمية الكتاب في سببين أولهما: الجهد الذي بذله المؤلف وعمله الدؤوب الذي مسح من خلاله كل القبائل العربية، في عموم منطقة "خوزستان" وبحث في جذور هذه القبائل وانتماءاتها، وتحالفاتها ونضالاتها والوقائع التاريخية والأحداث التي مرت بها متطرقاً في بحثه إلى أهم المهن والحرف التي يمارسها الشعب العربي، أما السبب الثاني فيتعلق بانتماء المؤلف فهو أحد أبناء المنطقة.
ولعل هذه الدراسة أو البحث الاجتماعي حول عرب "خوزستان" الأهواز يعدّ من أهم البحوث التي برزت في هذا المجال. فقد قام المؤلف بدراسة الواقع الاجتماعي والاقتصادي للشعب العربي، وتأثيره بالهجرة الوافدة إليه من المناطق الأخرى من خلال تقسيم مؤلفه إلى مقدمة وخمسة فصول، تناول في الفصل الأول: القبائل والعشائر العربية مرتباً إياها حسب الأحرف الأبجدية، وفي الفصل الثاني: القوانين والنظم العشائرية، التي من خلالها تحل القبائل العربية وفقاً للعادات والتقاليد العشائرية الموروثة مشاكلها سواء الاجتماعية والأخلاقية، وفي الفصل الثالث: حدثنا عن مكانة الأهواز والحويزة التاريخية بالتفصيل سواء في الأزمان الغابرة أو إبان الفتح الإسلامي أو الوقت الحاضر، أما الفصل الرابع: فقد تناول فيه الشعر العربي وأنواعه، وأكد على مكانة الشعر في المنطقة تاريخياً، متناولاً الأعلام والشخصيات العربية الأهوازية التي ظهرت في ميدان الشعر والأدب والعلوم الفقهية والدينية. وفي الفصل الأخير تحدث عن الآلات الموسيقية العربية والمسرح البدائي العربي. وتضمن الكتاب نماذج من الشعر العربي الفصيح، والعامي، جاءت كملاحق في آخر الكتاب مع صور تمثل أبناء الشعب العربي بزيهم التقليدي.
