كما يقدم هذا الكتاب وثيقة يكاد يطويها النسيان تعتبر من أخطر النصوص في تاريخ الفكر السياسي العربي، وهي مقالة "قلب مغلق" التي تعد في حد ذاتها إحياء لأثر من أعظم آثار طه حسين في الأدب السياسي، بما تقدمه من أدلة على جرأته في التهجم على السلطة والسلطان وهو في أوج بطشه وطغيانه.
