تم تصنيف هذا الكتاب بطلب من المركز، وقد اعتمد المؤلف عند تسجيل الكتب على بطاقات مكتبتين في سانكت بطرسبرج، مكتبة معهد الدراسات الشرقية والمكتبة الوطنية، لأنه وحسب نظام الرقابة على المطبوعات في روسيا كان لا بد أن تدخل نسخة من كل طبعة إلى هاتين المكتبتين في عاصمة الدولة آنذاك. وتمت المقارنة والمعاينة في مكتبة المعهد وتمت إضافة مواد أخرى بعد المعاينة. ويصف كل كتاب بالإجابة عن 14 سؤالا ، هي : 1-اسم المسؤول (المؤلف) بحسب الشهرة 2- 5 سنة ولادته ووفاته بالهجري والميلادي 6-8 عنوان الكتاب الرئيسي والعنوان الشارح أو البديل 9 – رقم الطبعة 10 – مكانها 11 – الناشر 12 – سنة الطبع 13 – ملاحظات 14 – المرجع وقد رتب الكتاب حسب اسم المؤلف، ثم ورد ذكر الكتب التي لم يرد فيها اسم المؤلف، وبعد ذلك جاء ذكر المجاميع التي طبعت في روسيا، ثم فهرس طبعات المصاحف. كما ذكر المؤلف فهرسا جغرافيا للمطابع، وختم كتابه بفهرس لعناوين الكتب والمؤلفات.
