مسعود بن عمر بن عبد الله التفتازانى، سعد الدين: من أئمة العربية والبيان والمنطق.
ولد بتفتازان (من بلاد خراسان) وأقام بسرخس، وأبعده تيمورلنك إلى سمرقند، فتوفى فيها، ودفن في سرخس.
كانت في لسانه لكنة.
من كتبه (تهذيب المنطق - ط) و (المطول - ط) في البلاغة، و (المختصر - ط) اختصر به شرح تلخيص المفتاح، و (مقاصد الطالبين - ط) في الكلام، و (شرح مقاصد الطالبين - ط) و (النعم السوابغ - ط) في شرح الكلم النوابغ للزمخشري، و (إرشاد الهادى - خ) نحو، و (شرح العقائد النسفية - ط) و (حاشية على شرح العضد على مختصر ابن الحاجب - ط) في الأصول، و (التلويح إلى كشف غوامض التنقيح - ط) و (شرح التصريف العزي - ط) في الصرف، وهو أول ما صنف من الكتب، وكان عمره ست عشرة سنة، و (شرح الشمسية - ط) منطق، و (حاشية الكشاف - خ) لم تتم، و (شرح الأربعين النووية - ط) .

Book Description
علمُ المنطق هو ميزان الأفكار وقانونها، وهو سيِّد العلوم ورئيسها، وهو خادم العلوم ودليلها، ولكلِّ علم به تعلُّق، وهو علمٌ لا تنفصم عُراه؛ لكونها قضايا عقليَّة فطريَّة بحْتة.
أمّا كونه ميزاناً؛ لأنه يزن الأفكار، ومع رعاية قوانينه يظهر صحيحُها من سقيمها، وغثُّها من سمينها، ولأنه بإستصحابه يُعرف العقلُ من الوهم، وأمّا كونه سيّد العلوم؛ فلأنها تفتقر إليه في عصمة الناظر عن الخطأ في مسائلها وقضاياها، وأما كونه خادم العلوم؛ فلأنه آلةٌ يستعان بها على تحصيل التصديق بمسائلها.
قال الحجّة الغزاليّ في القسطاس المستقيم في فصل علم المنطق: "من معه القسطاس المستقيم؛ فمعه الحكمة التي من أوتيها أوتي خيراً كثيراً لا نهاية له".
وقال العلامة الفقيه ابن حجر الهيتمي في شرح الأربعين النووية: "ومن آلات العلم الشرعي من "تفسير" و"حديث" و"فقه"؛ المنطقُ الذي بأيدي الناس اليوم، فإنه علم مفيد لا محذور فيه بوجه، وإنما المحذور فيما كان يخلط به قبل من الفلسفيات المنابذة للشرائع، ولأنه نحو المعاني، كما أنَّ النحو منطق الألفاظ، ولأنه كالعربية في أنه من مواد أصول الفقه، ولأنَّ الحكم الشرعي لا بدّ من تصوره، والتصديق به إثباتاً أو نفياً، والمنطق هو المرصد لبيان أحكام التصور والتصديق؛ فوجب كونه علماً شرعياً، إذ هو ما صدر عن الشرع، أو يتوقف عليه العلم الصادر عن الشرع توقّفَ وجوب كعلم الكلام، أو توقف كمال علم العربية والمنطق، وهذا هو موجب مدح الغزاليّ له وقولِه: ولا ثقة بفقه من لم يتمنطق، أي من لا تكون قواعد المنطق مركوزة بالطبع في ذهنه، كالمجتهدين في العصر الأول، أو بالتعلّم".
