التَحرر الوطني من المحطَات الحاسمة والمضيئة في تاريخ الشعوب والدَول والأمم التي شهدت الاحتلال العسكري (الحربي) من قبل قوى اجنبية متفوتة مادياً، وحروب التحرير الوطنية تبقى محط اعتزاز وفخر الشعوب عبر تاريخها الوطني لما تمثله من نبل وسمو أهدافها وعدالة قضيتها وصدق وشجاعة رجالها وسخاء تضحياتها.
يشكَل الاحتلال الأمريكي –البريطاني للعراق عام 2003 الدولة المستقلة والعضو في منظمة الأمم المتحدة وجامعة الدول العربية دون تفويض شرعي وقانوني حدثاً خطيراً يهدد الأمن والسلم الدولييين والعلاقات الدولية ويعدً انتهاكاً صريحاً لميثاق الأمم المتحدة لعام 1945 والقانون الدولي العام والقانون الدولي الإنساني والقانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان.
ولأهمية هذا الموضوع جاء هذا الكتاب ليعالج قضية التحرر الوطني الذي يعد حدثاً مهماً في تاريخ الشعوب وإقرار حق تقرير المصير واستعادة السيادة والاستقلال والذي يحظى بأهمية خاصة في العلاقات الدولية وتأريخ الشعوب وكونه جهداً وطنياً ينتمي إلى تلك الأعمال التي يصعب تجاوزها مع تغير الأزمان وتواني المستجدات والمتغيرات. فضلاً عن إن الدراسة تتناول استشراق قضية تحرير العراق المحتل من الاحتلال الأمريكي –البريطاني الذي وقع عليه عام 2003 والسعي لإيجاد توصيات ملائمة تساعد في هذا الصراع.
ولغرض الإيفاء بمتطلبات الدراسة تناول المؤلف حسب الفصول الآتية: المبينة والتي راعيت فيه التدرج والترابط في مناقشة الموضوعات حتى تكتمل الصورة في الإستنتاجات والتوصيات: الفصل الأول تناول فيه الإطار النظري لمصطلحات التحرير، وبحثت في الفصل الثاني ماهية وأشكال وحق ومشروعية المقاومة الوطنية. وتناول في الفصل الثالث حركات التحرر الوطني، وناقش في الفصل الرابع الخيارات الإستراتيجية للتَحرير. أما الفصل الخامس فقد بين فيه الدروس المستبطة من حرب تحرير الجزائر وحرب تحرير فيتنام بعد دراسة وقائع تلك التجربتين بالتفصيل. واوضحت في الفصل السادس الاستشراق المستقبلي لتَحرر العراق.
وفي ختام الكتاب توصل إلى نتائج مستبطة من فصول الكتاب.
