إن القراءة الدقيقة لتاريخ النضال الوطني للشعب العربي السوري، لا تعيد إلينا الذاكرة شيئاً فشيئاً، بل تفجّر داخل رؤوسنا سيلاً من القيم النبيلة.
فكل مرحلة تخرج لنا صوراً مشرقة لرجال يصنعون التاريخ، ربما لا يعرفون التاريخ الذي يصنعونه، حيث تأخذ فيها الحلقة بيد الحلقة، مدغدغةً حلماً وردياً لذكريات ثورة لا متناهية الإمتداد.
فدراسة تاريخ أية ثورة، أو أية مرحلة من مراحل النضال الوطني، لا تتم من خلال نتائجها فحسب، فهناك إنفصالُ مطلق بين التاريخ الموضوعي للثورة، أي حصيلتها، وبين المعنى العام الذي أعطاه الثوريون لنشاطهم.
كذلك فإن روح أبطال الثورة هي التي تنظم أسباب عملهم، وتعلّل أسباب مجيء الثورة، ونضال رجالاتها، وبهذا يمكن أن يعفينا من تبرير الحصيلة.
أتى رمضان شلاش من دير الزور ليقاتل في دوما والرحيبة والقلمون والنبك وغيرها، وخرج محمود أبو يحيى من جبل العرب ليهاجم القلعة في دمشق ويشارك في معارك الغوطة، وكذلك فعل الكثيرون من الأبطال في أنحاء الأرض العربية السورية.
عما جاءوا يبحثون؟ عن الوطن، عن مجدهم، عن أنفسهم؟ ذلك يحتاج منا إلى دراسة التفاصيل بدقة متناهية.
كذلك هناك مسألة هامة أجرؤ على المجاهرة بها وهي: إنّ أية معرفة حقيقية عن ثورة ما، تبدأ بمقاطعة ذلك النوع من التفسير، الذي يمدنا به ممثلو الأحداث أنفسهم.
