إنَّ علمَ القراءاتِ من العُلومِ العاليةِ، لصِلَتِه الوثيقةِ بأداءَ كلماتِ القرآنِ الكريمِ، وكانَ مِن العلماءَ موضعَ الإهتمامِ في القديمِ والحديثِ؛ فكثُرَتْ به تأليفُهم، وتنوَّعَتْ تصانيفُهم.
وكانَ من بينِها كتابُ شرِح غايةِ ابنِ مِهْرانَ لأبي عبدِ اللهِ أحمدَ بنِ أبي عُمرَ الأَنْدَرابِيّ المتوفَّى سنةَ 470هـ، وكانَ من خبَرِ هذا الكتابِ أنَّ صلتَه الوثيقةَ بكتابِ الغايةِ أكسبَتْه قيمةً علميَّةً مُميَّزةً؛ ذلك أنَّ كتابَ الغايةِ كانَ عُمدةَ أهلِ نيسابورَ وما حولَها في تلقِّي القراءاتِ منذُ أشرقَتْ حروفُه.
وقد اعتنى بكتاب الأَنْدَرابيِّ أخونا الكريمُ الشيخُ أحمد فريد أحدُ طُلاَّبِ الدِّراساتِ العُليا بقسمِ القراءاتِ بكليَّةِ القرآنِ الكريم بالجامعةِ الإسلاميَّةِ؛ فقامَ بتحقيقِه تحقيقاً علميّاً مِتيناً في مشروعِه البحثيِّ لإستكمالِ متطلَّباتِ الحصولِ على درجةِ العالِميَّةِ الماجستير.
