في هذه الحوارات، تاريخاً فكرياً لا يقل شأناً في تناميه وتسلسله عن سيرتي الذاتية الأخرى، ولولا إصراره إصرار المحب في ملاحقتي بهذا الصدد، لما تحقق لي أن أفصح، بهذه العفوية وهذا الوضوح، عن الكثير مما خُضنا فيه في هذه الأحاديث المستفيضة، مما نعده، كلانا، جزءاً حيوياً من تاريخ الآداب والفنون العربية في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين، وهو تاريخ لم يدوُن منه حتى الآن إلاّ القليل.
