لقد كانت ثورة 25 يناير/ كانون الثاني 2011 حلقة في سلسلة الثورات والانتفاضات الوطنية المصرية، وإن كانت حلقة مميّزة، الأمر الذي غطّاه المهندس أحمد بهاء الدين شعبان في مدخل هذا الكتاب.
اختصّ الباب الأوّل في " الاقتصاد السياسي للثورة"، حيث غطّى الخبير الاقتصادي عبد الخالق فاروق الأساس الاقتصادي-الاجتماعي للثورة، فيما اضاء الكاتب السياسي عبد العال الباقوري على الاساس السياسي للثورة؛ ورصدت رضوى عبد القادر الحركات الاحتجاجية، التي قامت بدور الفرقة الثورية، بعد أن استقالت الأحزاب المعارضة من مهامها. وأوضحت سناء سلامة كيف أسّس المسرح المصري للثورة، فيما ألقى الناقد السينمائي كمال رمزي حزمة من الأضواء على ما أسهمت به السّينما المصرية في كشف الاستبداد، والفساد، والظلم، فقدّمت هذه السينما حصتّها في التوعية الشعبية.
في الباب الثاني، كان "الانفجار" حيث كشف الباحث والصحافي أحمد عاطف "المفاجأة" وتتبّع الكاتب الصحافي ناصر حجازي يوميّات الثورة، بينما لاحق الباحث نادر سلسيلي السلطة فيما اتخذته من إجراءات في مواجهة الثورة. وتبعه الباحث محمّد قاياتي، الذي تعامل مع الشعارات والهتافات التي أُطلقت في محاولة لقراءة خطاب الثورة.
عن "الأصداء" كان الباب الثالث، وأوّلها في المجال العربي، رصدتها الباحثة رشا حسني، فيما تتبّع المختصّ في الشؤون الإسرائيلية، خالد سعيد"الأصداء الإسرائيلية"، ورصد الباحث مجدي السيّد "الأصداء الدولية". وختم عبد القادر ياسين فصول الكتاب بالحديث عن الثورة الشعبية المصرية وتداعياتها على القضية الفلسطينية.
وأُلحق بالكتاب عددٌ من الملاحق، مثل بيانات الثورة، وشهادات مشاركين فاعلين فيها، وأسماء شهدائها.
