ينتمي الشعر الذي في هذا الديوان إلى مرحلة الصعود والتوهج القومي، ويفوح من سعير النفوس الملتهبة الطامحة المندفعة إلى الحرية، والوحدة إلى كل قيم ذلك العهد المليء بالآمال. ويندفع صاحب هذا الشعر في معترك الحياة والنضال حاملاً قلمه كمن يحمل بندقية، ومشرعاً ساعديه كالراية في مقدمة الجحافل المقاتلة. إنه شعر الثورة المتفجرة في القلوب، وإنه شاعر المرحلة المصبوغة بالحركة الدؤوبة المسكونة بالحكم، والمتحركة بالرجاءات الكبرى.. بين الأشواك والألغام وبين السجون والمنافي، في خضم الأحزاب، وفي معترك التطلعات، وتقليداً للثورات الكبرى وللثوار العظام.
ولكن من هذا مؤلف هذا الديوان الشعري؟ إنه "أسد محمد قاسم" رجل فلسطين المنبت، أردني الترعرع والنمو والهوية، عربي الجوارح، عالمى الهوى أو أممي الانتماء. وما أبيات ديوانه هذا سوى مرآة صادقة لما في نفسه من مشاعر وأحاسيس اصطبغت واكتوت بنيران الزمن الذي عاش فيه.
