يتابع أحمد دحبور، في هذه المجموعة الشعرية الجديدة، سيره العميق في ذات غسقية تتأمل حفرة أنهدامها. إنها ذات مهجورة تقف في "اللحظة الطللية" التي أصبحت العلامة الأبرز في شعر الحداثة العربي، وتطل على الفراغ المليء بالمفقودات، وكأنها شيء فائض عن الحاجة.
ثمة عدد كبير من المراثي، في هذه المجموعة، يجعلها أشبه بكتاب للموتى. إن الموت عنا ليس مجرد قلق ميتافيزيقي. إنه حالة واقعية نعيشها من خلال فقد الأصدقاء واحداً تلو الاخر، لذا تبدو الذات كما لو أنها نسيت وحيدة (كشيء لا لزوم له) في فراغ ما لا يشبه الحياة. (ولي أني أموت الآن/ لولا أن موتاً كاملاً مازال ينقضي).. (والوجوه تطل: أين قضيت موتك؟ في الجحيم..) إن الموت هو ما ينقص الذات رغم أنه ملتبس تماماً بالحياة، ولذا فإن ما يحضر هنا في القصيدة هو الموتى لا الموت بحد ذاته.
لكننا في جسد القصيدة نفسهان نلمس تلك الحرارة الوجدانية التي تميز النص الحي، وذلك الثراء الإيقاعي الذي تميزت به تجربة أحمد دحبور الشعرية منذ مجموعته (أحد عشر بحراً)، والذي يجعل النص الشعري موازياً للحلم، فالذات هنا ليست مفقودة بل هي فاقدة في الحقيقة، ومحبطة من شدة الفقد، وموجودة في أحلامها. لكنها ليس ذاتاً كابوسية يتآكلها قلق الموت.
إن قصيدة أحمددحبور هي تلك القصيدة نفسها التي مازالت تتحرك بين الإيقاعات الصعبة ببنى لغوية شديدة السلاسة وقدرات عالية على الحفر في الرؤى والدلالات والمعاني، وذلك ما جعل من شاعرها واحداً من أهم حراس القصيدة العربية المعاصرين.
