لا يخلو عصر أو مصر من أناس وقفوا حياتهم لخدمة القرآن وعلومه. فانفتحت لهم بذلك أبواب العلم فلم يكتموه، ولأن المفسر الذي ينظر في كتاب الله عز وجل ينبغي له أن يتسلح بجملة من القواعد والأصول، فقد عقد المؤلف عزمه على وضع هذه القواعد والأصول في كتاب شامل يغني من يتشوق إلى فهم القرآن الكريم وتدبر آياته وعانيه. وقد عمد إلى صياغة علوم القرآن من أصول فقه وتوحيد، وأصول حديث صياغة جديدة واتبع منهجاً يلبي حاجة من بعدت الشقة بينهم وبين العربية قل معينهم من الوسائل اللسانية والأصولية.
كما عمد المؤلف إلى وضع تلخيص يلائم الأوساط على الكثيرين، واختصر لكي لا تكون الإطالة سبباً في نفور الكثيرين من الدرس والتحصيل كما أكثر من ذكر القواعد وشرحها وطرق تطبيقها. وقد اعتمد في وضع كتابه المؤلف من عشرة أبواب على كتب علماء الأمة كالتبيان في علوم القرآن، والبرهان، والإتقان وغيرها من الكتب التي لا يستغني عنها باحث أو دارس أو عالم.
