السّرد يكشف عن خيارات الرّاوي، وعن ترتيب الأحداث، وعن بناء الفضاء، أمّا البنية فهي نظام من العناصر الّتي تأتلف فنّيّاً وموضوعيّاً في تراتبيّة معقّدة.
إنّ البناء الرّوائيّ هو كلٌّ لغويِّ سرديٌّ تنتظم عناصره في نظام يتَّصف بخصائص نوعيّة تصنع فرادته، أي أدبيّته؛ إنّها تصنع إبداعيّته، وهذا ما تَمَّ التّركيز عليه في هذا البحث.
صحيحٌ أنّ هذا البناء المتكامل يَشي برؤية كلّيّة، تنطلق منها عمليّة البناء، لكنّه بناءٌ قابل للتّجزئة، أي إنّه قابل للدّراسة التّجزيئيّة الشّكليّة.
لذلك تمّت معالجة عناصر البنية معالجةً مستقلّة، وذلك للبحث عن أدوارها الخاصّة في البناء السّرديّ، وتالياً للبحث عن أدوارها في العمليّة الإبداعيّة.
إنّ المعالجة التّجزيئيّة لا تعني أنّنا لا ننظر إلى السّرديّة على أنّها بناءٌ متكامل، بل الغاية منها تبيان مَواطن الإبداع في العمل السّرديّ.
وإنّ الإنتقائيّة الّتي نتّبعها في إختيار السّرديّات غايتها أن تُرِيَنا عناصر الإبداع بوضوح.
