علم إعراب القرآن هو من فروع علم المحو عده البعض علماً مستقلاً، وقد صنف فيه جماعة من الشيوخ وسلك بعضهم في ذلك سبيل المفسرين فجمعوا بين التفسير والإعراب والكتب المؤلفة فيه لا تعد ولا تحصى لكثرتها. والإعراب هو أحد الوسائل التي تساعد على فهم آيات الذكر الحكيم وبيان مقاصدها واستشفاف أسرارها. ومعجم إعراب الألفاظ والجمل في القرآن الكريم عمل فريد في بابه غير مسبوق، بلغ جداً من التنظيم والدقة وهو دليل على ما بذل فيه من جهد وعمل دؤوب بذل فيه المعد غاية جهده فاعتمد هذا العمل الذي يتناسب مع عظمة موضوعة وسمو مكانته والمنهج المتبع في هذا المعجم يعتمد أسلوب إبراز الأساسيات النحوية المتعلقة بالكلمة عندما تدخل في التركيب، مكتفياً بذلك.
ويصرف النظر عن الجزئيات الصرفية الناتجة عن هذا التركيب. وقد وضعت المعلومات النحوية تحت النص الأصلي مباشرة لتمكين القارئ من وضع كل كلمة في محلها من الإعراب، وتم التأكيد على ذكر كافة أوضاع الاسم والفعل والحرف وخصص مستطيل رمادي لتسجيل كل المعلومات المتعلقة بهذه الكلمات المذكورة.
وفيما يتعلق بالاسم لم يأت المعجم على ذكر الاسم المصنف لآن المضاف إليه يدل مباشرة عليه، وقد تستخدم أحياناً بعض العبارات المزدوجة (جار ومجرور) (عاطف ومعطوف) وذلك للدلالة على الحرف والاسم معاً في مستطيل واحد. أما الفعل المعلومات المقدمة لإعرابه تتألف "من حروف وحركات منفردة تشكل ضمن المستطيل الواحد مجموعة مختصرة تدل على صيغة الفعل ثم على بنائه وإعرابه ثم على ألقاب بنائه أو علامات إعرابه".
أما الحرف فإن العبارات المستعملة لوصفه إعرابياً تشير إلى حالته فهو إما عاملاً في الاسم أو عاملاً في الفعل وإما أن يكون غير عامل.
